Getting started
- Install Imprimo from the Mac App Store or via the direct download on imprimoapp.com.
- Launch the app. Imprimo lives in your menu bar — look for the small icon in the top-right of your screen.
- Enter your license key when prompted (or via the menu bar). Your key was sent to the email address you used at checkout.
- Add at least one affirmation from the main window, then turn the overlay on. Flashes begin appearing immediately at your selected interval.
Troubleshooting
I don't see any affirmations on screen
Most common cause: Imprimo intentionally hides the affirmation overlay when it detects screen sharing, screen recording, or a presentation is in progress. This is a privacy feature — your affirmations are never captured by Zoom, Meet, QuickTime, OBS, or screenshot tools.
If you've just launched Imprimo and don't see flashes, check the following:
- Stop any active screen recording or screen sharing — including QuickTime recording windows, Zoom meetings, Meet, Teams, OBS, or macOS's built-in screen recorder. Once these stop, the overlay reappears within a few seconds.
- Confirm the overlay is enabled. Click the Imprimo icon in the menu bar — the "Show Affirmations" toggle should be on.
- Confirm you have at least one affirmation saved. Open the main window from the menu bar and check that your affirmation list is not empty.
- Check the flash interval. If you've set a long interval (e.g. 10 minutes), you may simply be waiting for the next scheduled flash. Lower the interval temporarily to verify.
- Check screen permissions. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording. Imprimo uses this permission to detect recording sessions; granting it allows the overlay to work normally outside of recordings.
My license key isn't working
- Confirm you're copying the full key from the order confirmation email — no extra spaces.
- Each key is valid on up to 3 devices. If you've reached the limit, email us at [email protected] and we'll reset an activation.
- If you've lost your key, write to us with the email address you used at checkout and we'll resend it.
The app won't open or shows "damaged" on first launch
- If you downloaded directly from imprimoapp.com (not the App Store), right-click the Imprimo icon in Applications, then choose "Open" — confirm at the security prompt. macOS only asks this once.
- Make sure you've moved Imprimo out of the DMG file into your Applications folder before launching.
Affirmations appear too fast or too slowly
Open the Imprimo menu bar icon and select Preferences. Adjust the flash duration (how long each affirmation is visible) and flash interval (time between affirmations) to fit your work rhythm.
I want a refund
If Imprimo isn't a fit, email us within 14 days of purchase at [email protected] with your order email and we'll process a full refund. No forms, no friction.
Frequently asked questions
Does Imprimo work on macOS Sequoia / macOS 26?
Yes. Imprimo supports macOS 12 Monterey and later, including macOS Sequoia and macOS 26.
Will my affirmations show up in screen recordings or video calls?
No. Imprimo automatically hides the overlay when it detects screen sharing, screen recording, or a connected projector. This is intentional — what you read should be for your eyes only.
Can I use Imprimo on more than one Mac?
Yes. A single license activates Imprimo on up to 3 of your devices. If you need more activations, email us.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Imprimo is a one-time purchase. The optional Pro add-on (AI-generated affirmations and voice playback) is available monthly, yearly, or as a lifetime upgrade — but the core app is yours to keep.
Where is my data stored?
Locally on your Mac. Imprimo doesn't sync to the cloud and doesn't require an account. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
How do I cancel a Pro subscription?
If you bought Pro on the Mac App Store, cancel from System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. If you bought directly via the website, open imprimoapp.com, click "Manage subscription" at the bottom of the page, and enter your email to access the billing portal.
Can I request a feature?
Please do. Email [email protected] — we read every message and roadmap decisions are heavily shaped by what users actually ask for.
Reporting a bug
If something is broken, the most useful things to include are:
- Your macOS version (Apple menu → About This Mac)
- The Imprimo version (menu bar icon → About Imprimo)
- A short description of what you did and what happened
- A screenshot, if it's a visual issue
Send everything to [email protected] and we'll get back to you fast.
